Hot Games is the shortlist — the titles being played most on this site right now, drawn from every collection: rhythm, arcade, action, puzzle, racing, sports and casual.
It exists because a catalogue of more than two hundred games is not useful when you have five minutes and no particular plan. This is the answer to "just give me something good", and it is the page most people open first.
The contents change. A game that holds attention stays; one that gets opened and closed drops off. It is not a permanent ranking or an editorial best-of — it is a snapshot of what is currently working for the people using the site.
Why Popularity Is a Reasonable Filter Here
Recommendation is a hard problem and most answers to it are worse than they look. Editorial picks reflect one person's taste. Star ratings get gamed and skew high, because people who liked something are far more likely to say so than people who felt nothing.
What people keep playing is harder to fake. A browser game has no sunk cost — no install, no account, no progress to protect. Closing the tab is free. So a game that holds someone for a second session has earned it in the only currency available here.
It is not a perfect signal, and it is worth knowing how it is biased. Popularity favours games that are easy to start over games that reward patience. A dense puzzle game will never out-click a thirty-second arcade loop, and that says nothing about which is better. Several of the best things on this site are not on this page for exactly that reason.
Treat it as a starting point rather than a verdict. The themed collections are organised by what a game asks of you rather than by how many people opened it.
